Although Alabama is historically recognized primarily for its football achievments, the Crimson Tide has generally achieve very well in all sports.

The Bama men's basketball team holds an all-time wining record over every SEC opponent except Kentucky (31-89) ad Arkansas (10-15). Alabama ranks third all-time in SEC standings behind Kentucky and Arkansas and third in all-time overall record (again, trailing Kentucky and Arkansas).

In the SEC Tournament, Alabama ranks second to Kentucky in both record and championships. Kentucky has a record of 90-15 and 20 titles, Alabama a mark of 48-31 and 6 championships. Kentucky and Vanderbilt are the only SEC teams to have winning records against Alabama in SEC Tournament play. Since the renewal of tournament in 1979 (folling an interruption from 1953 through 1978), Kentucky and Alabama (in that order) are far ahead of the rest of the league in wins and in championships, Kentucky is 33-9 with eight championships, Alabama 32-14 with five titles.
